  • Gary Latham of Ojai California has been hired as the Executive Director of the Security Advisor Alliance.  Latham brings 30 years of operational and business development experience to the helm of the 600+ member 501(c)3 cybersecurity nonprofit.

The Alliance conducted a nationwide search to fill the position with former Executive Director Clayton Pummill leading the search committee.  “Gary presented an incredible combination of industry experience, operational expertise and a passion for education that was just possible to ignore.  The Alliance has done some impactful work over the last 7 years and the board and I felt Gary would be the best candidate to scale that impact and reach the heights we’ve always envisioned for the organization.” – Clayton Pummill

Gary will be tasked with expanding on the Alliance’s Nationwide Converge Tour education program, virtualizing the annual Alliance Executive leadership Summit and building new programs that advance the mission of workforce development in cybersecurity.

“I was looking for an opportunity in the non profit world but never in a million years did I think I would find myself back in the information security space in that search.  The Alliance and its members really have the pieces in place to help align our workforce with the needs of industry, the private sector and government.  It was obvious pretty quickly that this was what I’d been looking for and somewhere my skills could have a great impact.

The Alliance has received support in 2021 from Microsoft and Mastercard, both returning sponsors and will be engaging with a bevy of new partners in the coming months.  The Alliance will also be seeking grants and other funds to promote diversity in our industry and produce content that engages a wide audience, inclusive to all people.
