Dallas Converge Tour - DELL Partnership - Future On Lock

  • Dallas Eastfield College, Building N, Room N221 3737 Motley Drive Mesquite, TX, 75150 United States (map)

The Converge Tour is the Alliance’s coast to coast cybersecurity event series with middle, high school and college students. Our 3-4 hour workshops expose students to a wide swath of cybersecurity careers, skills and resources, along with gamified education through our Capture The Flag Platform. Most importantly, it provides an opportunity for students to interact directly with local cybersecurity professionals, building relationships and gaining real world knowledge on what’s important today.

In 2023 and 2024, The Alliance is partnering with Dell Technologies to expand our reach, and scale our impact. Dell’s Security and Resilience Organization will be utilizing components of the Converge Tour program, along with elements of their own, to engage thousands of students, across the globe in conversations about careers in cybersecurity.

The Alliance values partnerships like these, and encourages other organizations to do the same! We’ll be posting volunteer opportunities for events like these so you can participate.

As a mentor, you’ll be asked to be yourself, share your career experience in bite size chunks and help students through our Capture The Flag game. (Don’t worry, we have helper packets with all of the answers)

We’ll have a host that will moderate the entire program and there is no prep work for you to do, just show up, connect with a few students and have fun. We know you’ll have a great time networking with other local security professionals as well.

Event Specifics:

Volunteers should arrive by 9:45am. The event concludes at 11:30pm.

  • 10:00 Introductions and Basic Principals of Cybersecurity (Host led discussion with students)

  • 10:15 Cybersecurity at Dell

  • 10:45 Capture The Flag

  • 11:30 Career Pathways

  • 11:45 Closing Comments

  • 12:00 Event Concludes

The agenda above is a slightly modified program to a standard Converge Tour. Be flexible, and remember that ultimately, we just want students to have a fun day, and learn a little about your job, and why you love it!
