November 22, 2016, Alliance Members from the City of Dallas and surrounding areas showed up big to support kids and the cyber security industry.

Alliance Market Leader Parrish Gunnels organized local Security Leaders from the finance, education, business services and law enforcement industries to speak to the students about pathways into the industry along with the skill sets necessary to be successful.

The Alliance partnered with Project Lead The Way and the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals to identify the Frisco Independent School System as an ideal help target.

Following the panel discussion, students were broken into teams of two and guided through a virtual Capture The Flag, gamified learning competition to encourage teamwork, critical thinking skills and creative problem solving.  The students performed incredibly well and further illustrated to our security leaders that through this continued effort, we can help address the employment gap facing the industry.

The Alliance would like to give special thanks to educators Ken Strong, Kip Bledsoe and our partners at Optiv Security, and RiskIQ for making this event such a huge success.
