Fascinating & Frustration...A Cyber Odyssey
Dr. Ron Layton, Deputy Assistant Director, Secret Service is charged with the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information. Dr. Layton has direct oversight of the agency’s protective intelligence, threat assessment, behavioral analysis program, and all counter surveillance activities. Previously, Dr. Layton was the Special Agent in Charge of the White House Technology Liaison Section for the United States Secret Service and executive agent to the Presidential Information Technology Council (PITC). Ron holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with expertise in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems; in addition, Ron holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with expertise in the assessment of Radicalization through the observance of Social Media.

A Framework For Decision Making In an Uncertain Future
Big Wide Sky, a futures thinking agency will present a framework for decision making in an uncertain future. This interactive workshop will guide security leaders through an exercise that can help make sense of current decisions, while accounting for variables in the future, that we cannot know today. Attendees will work together to create potential outcomes for a proposed scenario. These outcomes will be discussed and compared.

Sean Cordero, Head of Cloud Strategy, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRIS
Sean Cordero brings over 18 years of information security, and leadership experience to his role of VP of Cloud Strategy at Netskope. In this role, Cordero works alongside Netskope’s clients and industry thought-leaders to transform how organizations solve for the pressing information security risks of today and tomorrow.
Cordero is a renown thought-leader in information risk management, cloud security, and leadership. Since 2011 he has led the Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA) research team to develop the industry standard for cloud security assurance, the Cloud Control Matrix (CCM). For his contributions to cloud security and assurance Cordero was honored in 2013 by the CSA and in 2016 inducted as an Inaugural CSA Research Fellow in 2016.
As experienced CISO and advisor to the world’s leading companies, Cordero understands the daily challenges faced by IT and Risk Leaders in an increasingly cloud-first world.

Dan Geer is a computer security analyst and risk management specialist. He is recognized for raising awareness of critical computer and network security issues before the risks were widely understood, and for ground-breaking work on the economics of security.
Geer is currently the chief information security officer for In-Q-Tel, a not-for-profit venture capital firm that invests in technology to support the Central Intelligence Agency.

Predictive Index Workshop
Alicia worked at the United States Olympic Committee where she drove the innovation and design of Olympic University – a corporate university that leveraged sport to teach critical leadership principles to leaders of the Fortune 500 Olympic Sponsor organizations. Additionally, in her role running Learning and Leadership Development and as acting Chief Human Resources Officer, she was responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive leadership curriculum for the organization’s leadership and the 45 National Sports Federations.

Heath’s rise to the position of CISO at a Fortune 100 firm is that of story books. She began her career in law enforcement as a beat officer in Cheshire England. She quickly realized the gender gap amongst her peers and worked diligently to earn the respect of her department.
After a promotion to detective, Heath shifted gears and opened a website development firm, and evolved into digital project management. Her attention to detail and strong leadership skills found a natural home searching for wrong doers across the digital landscape. Emily will share her inspiring story as well as the success her team has experienced with a focus on diversity initiatives.

Capture The Flag
The Alliance’s nationwide cybersecurity Converge Tour will close out our conference by bringing local, STEM focused high school students, into the conference. Attendees will participate as mentors for over 100 students as they compete in a condensed version of our Capture The Flag experience.
Skills like teamwork, communication, analytical thinking and creative problem solving are emphasized while reinforcing curriculum on cryptography, multi factor authentication, geo location and more.
